Preferences Overview

Your account settings are on the Preferences page. To get there, click your name or avatar in the top-right corner to open the user menu, then click Preferences.

The Preferences page has four sections: Display Name, Email Address, Password, and Subscription. Theme and appearance settings are controlled separately from the user menu — see the Appearance section below.

Display Name

Your display name is shown in the user menu, on shared maps, and in organization member lists.

To change your display name:

1. Go to Preferences.
2. Edit the name in the Display Name field.
3. Click Save.

The Save button is disabled until you change the name to something different and non-empty. After saving, you'll see a "Name updated" confirmation.

Email Address

Your email address is used for sign-in, notifications, and collaboration invitations.

To change your email:

1. Go to Preferences.
2. Edit the address in the Email Address field.
3. Click Save.

The Save button is disabled until you enter a different email address. After saving, you'll see an "Email updated" confirmation.

Password

You can set or change your password from the Preferences page. Password requirements:

• At least 12 characters
• At least one uppercase letter
• At least one lowercase letter
• At least one number

If you signed in with a social account (e.g. Google):

The section is titled "Set Password". You'll see the note "You signed in with a social account. Set a password to also sign in with email." Enter your new password, confirm it, and click Set Password.

If you already have a password:

The section is titled "Change Password". Enter your current password, then your new password and confirmation, and click Change Password.

Appearance

StitchGraph supports three appearance modes: Light, Dark, and System (which matches your device settings).

To change the theme:

1. Click your name or avatar in the top-right corner to open the user menu.
2. Use the Theme toggle at the top of the dropdown to switch between Light, Dark, and System.

Subscription Settings

The Subscription section on the Preferences page shows your current personal plan (Free or Premium) along with status indicators:

• Trial badge — shows the number of days remaining in your free trial.
• Payment issue banner — appears if there is a problem with your payment method.
• Cancels [date] badge — appears if you've canceled, showing when your access ends.

From this section you can start a free trial, upgrade to Premium, or click Manage Subscription to open the Stripe billing portal.

For organization billing, go to your organization's settings billing page instead. Only org Owners and Admins can manage org billing.
